Perched at 1940 meters in the midst of pristine forest of oak, rhododendron, pine and deodar, Kot Naikana is a painstakingly renovated old house converted into a boutique homestay. While the exteriors reflect an old-world charm, yet its rooms are comfortable, homely with spacious en-suite bathrooms.

At Kot Naikana, our in-house chef prepares farm-to-table meals made up of local kumaoni cuisine. Most of the raw materials are sourced from the nearby farms and the vegetables are plucked fresh. While you are here, delight your taste buds with delectable local cuisine served with a view.

All 04 rooms overlook the valley leading to snow-covered peaks in the distance while their decor blends in perfectly with the surroundings. Autumn
Rains are over leaving behind the lush green forests and clear skies. Mesmerizing snow clad peaks begin to loom large. Sunny days and pleasant nights.
Winter
The entire Himalayan range now puts up a breathtaking show with beautiful mornings and captivating sunsets. Cold days and colder nights with occasional snowfall.
Spring
Striking Rhododendron is now in its full bloom, stunning views of the Himalayas and azure skies. Days are balmy and nights are cold.
Summer
Breezy days and pleasant nights make it a perfect getaway from hot plains. Clouds start building up with occasional showers making way for earth to re-generate into new lease of life.

THINGS TO DO
Temple Trail
Hike to Jageshwar Temple (40 min. hike) Believed to be one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, Jageshwar is a group of 124 big and small stone temples dating back from 7th to 18th century AD. Beautifully set in the midst of lush green Deodar (Cedrus deodara) forest, this temple complex is just about 45 min. easy walk from Kot Naikana through the ridges and tiny villages.
Day Excursions
Undertake a day excursions to Patal Bhuvaneshwar, Almora, Lakhudiyar & Chitai Bell Temple. You can even head to the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary which is just about 40 mins from Kot Naikana.
Naikana Village Walk
Step out in the morning for a trail across Naikana village to get a glimpse of terraced fields, the traditional architecture of houses with slated roof and to understand the Himalayan culture by mingling with a local village family in their charming mountain home.
Sun Downer Walk
What better than to enjoy an evening cuppa at the view point with Cool breeze, rolling hills through the deep valley and sun going down the horizon. An easy walk of about 45 min. through the ridge and you reach the sunset point to witness those last orange and pink rays making it the most magical moment of the day.
Hiking
Hike to Vridh Jageshwar (3 hrs. gradual to steep hike) Spend the day hiking up to Vridh Jageshwar located at a height of 2200 M which offers a splendid 180 degrees view of Himalayas.
Birds Safari
Relatively unexplored, Kot Naikana is paradise for wide varieties of migratory birds and butterflies. Step out of your room and spend the day exploring the area for Red-billed blue magpie, kingfishers, blue-throated and brown-headed barbets babblers, jungle Owlet, eagle, woodpecker, flycatchers, eurasian jay, Bluefronted Redstart and many more.

Drive
KotNaikana is about about 9 – 10hrsdrive from Delhi.
Route option 1 : Delhi – Ghaziabad – Hapur – Gajraula – Moradabad Bypass – Tanda – Bazpur – Kaladungi – Nainital – Bhowali – Almora – Jhakarsem – Naikana village
Route option 2 : Delhi – Ghaziabad – Hapur – Gajraula – Moradabad Bypass – Tanda – Bazpur – Kaladungi – Kathgodam – Bhimtal – Almora – Jhakarsem – Naikana village
Route option 3 : Delhi – Ghaziabad – Hapur – Gajraula – Moradabad Bypass – Tanda – Bazpur – Kaladungi – Kathgodam – Bhimtal – Dhanachuli – Chalnichina – Suakhan –Jhakarsem – Naikana village
(Important: Road on the option 3 is very scenic but more winding from Bhimtal onwards as compared to the other two roads)

During weekends and summer holiday it is advisable to avoid Nainital route due to heavy traffic.

Currently there is one flight operated by Air India on 4 days (wed, fri, sat, sun) in a week. You may check the update schedule with Air India.
